Group exhibition:
Three of my collages will feature in this year’s Atelier OPEN exhibition in sunny Brighton this July. The exhibition will showcase 280 works by 150 artists, working with a huge variety of media and subjects. As with last year, there will be a chance for visitors to vote for their favorite piece, so come along and vote for yours!
Also, Atelier OPEN are celebrating their second birthday with 15% off gallery-wide for their e-newsletter subscribers until 17th July. Sign up at atelierbrighton.co.uk for a chance to grab your earlybird discounts.
Royal Male:
A dark-skinned brother adorned with crown replaces the monarch in this series of stamps. The project stands in response to the continued resistance to acknowledging the value and potential held by black and brown men in the UK.
The images set out to promote a narrative of hope and empowerment against deep-rooted perceptions and stereotypes which continue to plague us. This brother is not hypersexual, hypermasculine, uneducated or angry, he is noble and deserves his crown.
